Discussion
Insurance company are driving round twist! I had to fill in a declaration saying my imobilizer was fitted at factory etc cos no certificate provided.
THEN .. they write back with snotty mail demanding to know make and model or will cancel my insurance!
wouldn't care but was insured last year with them and didn't have all this grief!!
I know its a Ross someting or other cat 1 thatham approved .. the car is a 97 4.2 cerb.
Anyone out there had to go through this before?
or know who I could ask?
cheers guys...Ian

Sorry, can't remember the model numbers, but I'm sure someone will but it's a Meta alarm and immobiliser not Ross.

The factory fitted on my 96 is a Meta 99T, Meta M36T immobiliser & GEC Plessey MK4 microwave.
The first two items are Thatcham cat 1 if used with ultrasonics, boot & bonnet pin switches.
However TVR use a microwave instead of ultrasonics, so it's not cat 1.
The m36T on it's own is cat 2, so that's what the system complies to, approval no. TEI 119/0895.
