You could ask track-club for their Elise 190. It's a track car, but road registered. Not sure about insurance, etc but can't think of anybody else for less than about a grand. If you do find anybody that has reasonable costs, could you post their info up, as I'd be interested too (may help sway the misses
)
)have a look at www.classic-car-hire.co.uk/cars/lotuselise.htm
based in Yorkshire or Oxford. Dont have any experiance of what they are like, i got in touch when they had an old page advertising a Caterham 7 for hire.

Peter,
I looked into this once upon a time and I seem to remember that the price for a weekend was not too bad. However, you only got 50 "free" miles then you started paying extra for each mile covered (50p - £1 per mile I seem to remember).
Knowing how much fun you can have in an Elise over a weekend things could get very expensive very quickly!
Dunc.

Thanks guys, will continue to do a bit of research. Its my gfs birthday in a few months, and she has a big thing for elises. Only real big problem i can see is insurance...she'll be 18!
But hopefully can insure it in my name and add her on at extra cost. Will ring up a few of these hire places and try and negotiate.
