pas leaks / ball joints

Hi All
Getting slight PAS fluid leaks from hoses under pump and top of steering rack,does anyone do a set of replacement hoses(ACT or Goodridge) or am I going need a set made up from pattern of old ones.Also just had MOT, slight play in top ball joints need replacements where's best to purchase.Many thanks in advance.

PAS pipes are about the same as hydralic pipe. I replaced mine with 10 bar operating pressure hose from a local JCB repair place. Cost the grand sum of £5 including new jubilee clips
I think you need 16mm bore, but check, as I'm not 100% sure.

No idea on the ball joint.

Expect you'll find the ball joints are slaab 900/9000, but take the old one to ensure you get an exact match.

Me too!,I've had some aeroquip ones made up,braded stanless steel for the high pressure side and either s/s braded low pressure hoses with blue or red hose finishers or much cheaper aeroquip blue oil hose with normal jubilee clips,I think the cheap way was about £50 and full bling was about £100.

The V8 Centre in High Wycombe do a set of replacement hoses to cure the leaks under the PAS pump: They are made up as pukka hydralic hoses with no jubilee clips either side of the u-shaped pipe: Same kind of make up as the hoses on JCB arms (but smaller!)Cured my leaks: Can't remember the exact cost as it was done with a few other things at the same time: Give Perry a call 0800 9706759

The tube is standard 5/8 bore hydraulic tube to SAE=W 100R6 (its marked on the tube but you shouldn’t need it). Check the yellow pages for your nearest hydraulic components supplier and just ask for standard low pressure tubing. I also bought a one meter length some time back for £5, this was enough to replace both and have some spare.

Make sure you get good quality clips as these need to be very tight, the tube is thick walled and doesn’t seal as good as standard heater stuff.

No idea about the ball joints, TMS used to be your best bet for this stuff, but I dont know who is now.

Did any of you guy's fit thease new pipe's yourself?
I only ask as there seem's very little room to get to them any advice on DIY fitting would be appreciated.

Yes - fitted them myself - easy enough as they're just pipes! Make sure you get the clips on tightly as the PAS fluid can leak better than any other substance.
