pondering another goldtrack day at silverstone early next year, but have a question !

do you have to reserve a pit lane garage or will enough be opened up for shelter up and down the pit lane ?

btw, anyone else thinking of doing the GP circuit on SUNDAY (!) 22nd Jan 06 (hoping it ain't snowing !)

I did the January day with them last year. All garages were open but best to book if you want one.

It was so slippy it was untrue in the morning. The track hadn't been used for more than a month and was almost green in parts. It may be different thsis year

That coupled with drizzle made for a tentative time in the morning, though to be fair I probably learned more than any other track day.

Much more grip in the PM, overall a great day. Not sure about 22nd - trying to sort out a car

I've done several Goldtrack days at Silverstone and ALL the garages have always been open. The members who do book garages, get the ones opposite the diner, but the ones further down the pit lane are open to all and sundry.

As you probably know each garage can hold about 6 cars so you'll have no problem finding a space. Make sure Melindi shares out all the sweets

the time of year is a bit of a worry, but as you say a beter chance to learn more about the car.. as long as it doesn't snow !

one, done 7 this year... yet to try a pcgb day, but you'll a lot moe of me and the tubby targa next year !

actually as it's a sunday then I can actually make it ! even if it could be a tad slippery ! which could be a good chance to try out winter handling..

I'm guessing the GT3 is tucked in that air bubble till the spring ?

I did PCGB Silverstone full GP circuit earlier in the year in my 996tt............WOW, what a circuit.

Not sure I would like to do it in slippery conditions because there ar some high speed corners and a not very forgiving concrete wall on the pit straight!

I did a GOLDTRACK donnington day this year and found them to be very strict with the drivers, which is a good thing for everyone on the track as everyone follows the rules, or you are OFF!

Goldtrack - Very friendly bunch and well organised.

LOL....

Well if you cn call my garage an air bubble..

Drove it yesterday for the 1st time in a month !!!!, brings an instant smile to my face, but
unfortunately it brings out the bad boy in me, which isn't very liscence friendly.

My Cold Corsas don't like these greasy conditions this time of year.

I'll keep an eye on this Silverstone day, and if the weather isn't too bad, i may give it a whirl.
