re-ring a 944 turbo

hi guys, is it possible to take the pistons out of my 944turbo without removing the engine? has anyone done this? all feedback is very greatfully recieved!

Never done it myself Andrew but I've heard its easier to remove the engine.

To remove the pistons with the engine in situ you have to drop the suspensiion crossmember from underneath the car so that you can get the sump off.
