Welcome any thoughts on why the engine on my 993 C4 suddenly dies without warning? Has done it twice in the last couple of days, once on the M25, second time on the A3. Engine also doesn't start immediately when its warm either, so a bit stressful!!

DME relay possibly. I think its not unheard of - the relay controls fuel pump operation, among other things.

Hey

I can give you a list of items that can cause this (and I've replaced them all !)

Relay box - front and rear
There's a big yellow relay on the rear box that tends to get very hot and melts the solder on it's board.

Could be the CDI box - could be the coil

Could be fuel pumps (unlikely)

Many thanks for the advice. DME sounds a good place to start....If that doesn't cure it, I will start working through the list...
