Slightly odd "problem" but when in 1st gear just moving along at around 5mph at constant speed the car "cough's" difficult to describe but you just feel a little hesitancy which then clears, a little bit like you have just taken foot off the gas & re-applied & the car has jerked a little. A little like the car has hiccup'd !

Also when cold, approaching junctions, slip into neutral & the revs rise up then drop down again, fine when warmed up - wondered if the 2 were linked?
Maybe MAF ? Any ideas ?

Its an 02 996TT

Thanks

I had a similar problem with my TT when I switched to Tesco petrol from optimax-quick hiccup at very low speed very occasionaly-it went after a couple of tanks of the new stuff.

Interesting - I switched recently from Optimax to Tesco, had about 6 tank fulls now though so all should be ok. I seem to remember it did it before on Optimax though too.

Interesting - thanks for this. I do suspect the MAF - not sure if i have the guts to try that DIY cleaning, I am the sort of person who can't put a biro back together once its taken apart !

LOL-I know what you mean-I may give this a try though-looks like a couple of bolts which should be easy enough-should be a good warm up for installing my short shift.

I'll see what they have at the local hardware shop-non residue seems to be the most important thing.

Cool, let me know which you get - am determined to do it myself cos if I take it to an OPC they will just want to replace the MAF & charge £silly.
