Which Haynes manual - RV8

I get confused with all the Range Rover models (different engine capacities etc) - which is the most relevant manual for an early '94 pre-serp 500? Haynes web site is inaccesible at the mo so I can't look, and Halfords don't seem to stock RR manuals.

I got the David Hardcastle books last year but these don't have the detailed technical info I'm after.

That'll be the 'Steve Heath Bible' that you need.

Specifically for your car and more user friendly (probably) than a Haynes could have been.

No,no,no,no - I've already got that worthy publication by Mr Heath - I'm looking for the Haynes manual that'll show me the engine stripdown etc. I hope I never need it, but I like to read up on these things ya know.

Yeah, TVR's are a serious peice of body kit, how come they can make cars look so good huh? And sound so good - and feel so good. My God, it's enough to make a grown man weep.

SD1 is pretty good and covers the engine mechanics and 'box. For the engine management etc you want a RR 3.9 V8.

I would suggest the 1970 to 1992 Range Rover book. The SD1 is not really worth it as it has virtually no relevance to the injection system and the engine detail is already covered. However, please take everything that is in there with a bit of salt as things are slightly different. The SD1 book is also out of print these days

The bad news is that I think that the Haynes manual is now out of print but s/h copies often come up on ebay or at charity shops. Also be aware that the earlier copies have the most info as Haynes changed the style of their manuals and dumbed down the content on later revisions.

I got the Range Rover Restoration manual by Haynes. It shows a complete strip down of the V8, and its written by RPI Engineering. ISBN:1 85960 827 2

I also got the SpeedPro "How to Power Tune Rover V8 Engines" A very good if a little technical book. ISBN:1 903706 17 3

What you need is Land Rover publication V8 overhal manual LRL0164+0004(ISBN1-855-20528-9),this covers all the V-8 engines from the 3.5-4.6,your specs will be for the 3.9-apart from longer stroke!.
If you want info on the injection wiring the200 Disco workshop manual has all the info(Land Rover no SJR900ENWN,ISBN 1-85520-312-X,the latter 300 manuals don't have any info on the wiring or ecu faults etc,its in a seperate manual,tilted Discovery electrical troubleshooting manual,LR no LJBEMENR95.All these manuals come up on ebay all the time,which is where I bought them.
