Hi guys. Have just replaced the wishbone bushes, and what a difference it makes. The steering is a lot tighter and there are no more bangs and clunks coming from the front. By the way I got my bushes from Racing Green for £4.30 each which seemed a very good price. (Standard Bushes). Bit of a pig to get in and out though.

How much do a complete set of replacement bushes cost to fit roughly, parts and labour? It's just that on my 10yr old griff it crashes and bangs over bumps and it's not exactly pleasant. It's not other symptons either as I had replacement ball joints fitted a short while back and the suspension in general is still in good nick.

Cheers - Chris

If and when you replace your bushes,i'd strongly recommend you fit poly bushes as replacements. They wont deteriorate from the effects of heat like the tvr rubber bushes do,and they perform much better to boot! They're a fit and forget item really, whereas the originals will need replacing again sooner than you think.I fitted originals to my first chim-never again!Speak to Jools at Trackcar solutionswww.track-car-solutions.co.uk anything suspension wise for our cars,he's the man

I've just had ALL the bushed changed on the Chim for poly ones at Offords....cost around £500 all in. Car is vastly improved as regards steering feel and general cornering behaviour...recommended.

I agree with the idea of poly bushes, and it is great to be able to fit and forget. However i had been told that you get a harsher ride with the poly ones. Plus I don't mind getting all the wishbones off again in another eighteen months, as they will probably need re-painting again. Cost for all the bushes was about £120.

I don't know who keeps reinforcing this rubbish but it's not true.

You are absolutely right I never thought about that, having said that it is the first time for me (replacing bushes that is). I will use the poly ones next time. Cheers.

I agree with Joolz - I held off putting polys on because of all the "experts" on here - had it done a coupla weeks ago and it's no harsher than before but it's a bloody site better to drive...

Had mine done at Henley TVR but as part of a major service, so not sure on the cost, but can say it is soooo worth doing. Everything feels tight like it should not all clunky like it was before.
