With the news that Rockingham "decided" that it didn't have time to market the 2003 Cart race, apparently Brands Hatch will be hosting the UK Cart Race !!

Wow !!! I can't wait to see the Champ cars go through paddock on the opening lap, then druids etc .. it's going to be amazing !!

I like Rockingham as a venue to race at , but Brands GP circuit is still one of the best circuits in Europe.

I don't really follow CART racing, but I went to see em at Rockingham the first time round (2000?), very impressive and very LOUD!

Is the racing as close on the "street circuits" as it is on the ovals? That would be really excellent to watch if so!

the "street circuits" can be as close as the oval racing, but the slipstreaming effect is much less a part of street circuits, still plenty of opportunity for slipstreaming action on the brabham straight before diving into paddock - into hawthorns as well - it's going to be awesome - imagine modern day F1 at brands on slicks and everyone driving a ferrari

I am going to HAVE to go to that. I really like Brands (both to drive and to spectate). CART at Brands should be really good entertainment!

I also read this, major move into the right direction. It looks like CART are going into opposition to F1. I'm looking forward to seeing them in Spa which was kicked out of the F1 shedule for next year. Bernie, that's gonna hurt.

Hasn't Bernie recently bought a controlling interest in CART?

Maybe not. It should be, but Octagon run both circuits, and I'm sure they will bump the price up.

Rockingham reduced thier prices for last year to try and get more people to attend. But if the response above is anything to go by Brands will be a big enough draw anyway.

Where did this rumour come from???

Autosport don't mention it. Neither does www.cart.com

Or the octagonmotorsport website...

I'd love if it were true. And i really hope it IS Brands, not Silverstone....

Spa would be good as well.

But why Estoril?? How about a 1.5 hour race on the Le mans 24 hour circuit. Now that would be good!!!
