I need new disks for the front of my 993TT. Is there any difference between OPC ones and OE manufacturer versions?

Thanks

I'd stick with originals (though not necessarily from an OPC) there'll only be a few quid in it.

Go for the ones with the separate 'hats' to avoid warping issues.

The originals have grey painted 'hubs' and don't go rusty. I've just had mine replaced all round by PCT (Autobahn)

When I had my discs skimmed by GT One, they repainted the hubs with zinc oxide paint (as per OEM). They are still like new more than a year later

Minimum thickness after machining:
Front 30.6mm (wear limit 30.0mm)
Rear 22.6mm (wear limit 22.0mm)

I'm not going to take any responsibility for the accuracy of this, but it's the only figures I can find in the only documentation I have!!

Cheers

Andy, those are Carrera rotors, not turbo. Fronts have the same thickness, tho', so you're right in the terms of the question ... cheers, Maurice

The answer to the above is nothing apart from price and a Porsche branded box if you buy from an OPC.

If you're asking about copy parts compared to OEM then the bell housing won't be painted so they rust in about a month and whilst being slightly cheaper aren't worth the saving.

Are the 'Zimmermann' discs OEM or are they copies / inferior?

I bought ZImmerman disks, thinking they were OEM, and they've rusted on the bellhousings already (3 months), so I'm guessing they aren't actually

I don't think there are different discs available for a 993tt ie zimmermann I'm sure the discs are the same just non Porsche branded box unlees you go for a complete different disc/bell set up.
