Hmmm, R1 chappy rather destroyed both of them until either he hit his 170mph limit or decided to bottle. So rather an unfair contest. The R1 would have had to just sit there and watch the other two comming knowing he could go no faster. I assumed the porker would keep pace with the R1 much earlier on.

I think you could beat any R1 if you had a car that could do 172mph and had a long enough stretch of road. For me the R1 took the honours, Jet number 2 and porker last, so a funny video to show extolling the porker.

Maybe three fast cars would show the porker in a better light?

I'm not sure its a Jaguar either - the tail looks all wrong. No idea what else it could be though?

Edit - one suggestion is that it's this

Strewth, the bloke on the bike's got some nerve! I once walked behind a taxying bizjet and wished I'd hadn't. Riding flat out behind a fighter at take-off thrust must have been, um, interesting

That's a Jag with that spindly undercarriage....

And that reminds me -two RAF Jaguars in formation returning from US, decided on their callsign -'Prescott Formation'.....

Yep, definitely a Jag, used to fly them. Was there when TG did the Jag v Jag, which was a laugh. Mate of mine took VBH up for a flight in a Jag and she loved it - lots of squealing and giggling by all accounts!!

Correct, also the flag kind of gives it away.

Here's a picture of a Jaguar

http://sepecat.info/

Look at the tail - fins point downwards, the engines do not protrude beyond the end of the tail (quite the opposite) and there is a sort of bar that runs across the top section of the tail. Run the video to just short of halfway, where you get an in-car shot from the Turbo. The plane passes by and you get a good look at the tail - it is quite different. There is another shot near the end as the plane does a pass towards the camera, and its clear that the tail fins are horizontal and not canted down in the characteristic way a Jaguar's do.

I agree that the undercarriage does look like a Jaguar tho :-)

Well if you used to fly them I can see the reason you no longer do, your eye site has gone.... Its not a Jaguar, it is a SOKO ORAO as outlined above. If you flew them you would also know that serbia and montenegro do not fly Sepcat Jaguars, and the plane in that video is from their airforce....

What ever you do, don't join the Observer core!

Well shiver me timbers, you are right - Knew I should have concentrated more during Recce training. Didn't even know they had an airforce, let alone a jet that is very Jag like. Should have spotted the lack of Radar Warninng Receiver on the tail and the laser nose. That's what happens as you get old, best not tell the passengers that the eyesight has gone

Maybe the plane shook him up a bit? It's bad enough with 30mph crosswind, sod a jet on take-off going past!

Yep, looking at the film again I think he was pretty brave.

Well spotted. Although to be fair the ORAO was a Jag copy to a large degree.
