Most Flaunted Law in UK
Discussion
Have been listening to this on radio 2 all week and am amazed at what people think are the most flaunted laws in our country.Number 1 was littering and after having stood on some miserable little SH***S chewing gum today and got it on my rather expensive boots I have to agree. Where are we going wrong? And people driving whilst holding mobile phones... Don't get me started on that one..
Depends really. All men are supposed to do Archery Practice on a Sunday so thats about 20 million offenses per week. On the other hand I almost always put the queens head upside down when I stick stamps on which carries the death penalty. Thats without mentioning the sill speed limits which must be billions of offenses daily. (Death penalty soon to be introduced)
Flaunt - to display or show off
Flout - to ignore
There are many, many laws on the statute books that are either totally ignored or, more likely, so obscure that people don't realise they exist. Many laws (such as the dangerous dogs act or the ban on selling football match tickets through agencies) are so stupid and unenforceable that hardly anyone has ever been prosecuted under them.
I often say that people don't realise how often they commit criminal offences - merely because there are so many obscure offences that can be comitted.

Why? My experience (as someone on the roads all day
) is that those gassing on their phones actually try to pay more attention to whats going on around them than they do when they're not on the phone. Its as though they think "I know I'm doing 2 things at once, I must be careful I don't have an accident as a result". Then they finish their conversation and return to the numpty way they normally drive.
I always felt I could tell someone was on a handheld phone 'cos of the slower and more measured way they would drive. It was the cars cutting and carving up, driveing too fast for the conditions etc that were a pain, and they weren't on the phone.

9/10 times i have been in a near-accident lately (inluding when last in UK) it was through someone having a phone stuck to their ear, and/or sending a text message (which is REALLY bloody silly!). Its amazing how ome people think they can pull off, negotiate traffic, change gear etc etc, all with one hand stuck to their head... What bugs me most though is people who answer the phone, t hen get in teh car, start up and drive off. You'd have thought they'd wait 5 mins and finish up, then go. It would probably be quicker anyway.

Spot the person who uses the mobile phone whilst driving

A friend of mine was nearly run down this week on his bike by a school-mum in her Range Rover - driving while on her mobile phone, totally oblivious to anything except her very important phone call and her kids in the back . He ended up in a ditch. She will be having a visit from the Police.

I understand that killing a swan still carries the death penalty, but it's never enforced!Good job too, as it would deprive me of a tasty Christmas lunch tomorrow!
For those of you who've never tried roast swan and wonder what it tastes like, it's a bit like Golden Eagle
Not a graduate of Porterhouse College are you?

You have to get permission from the parasite to eat Swan cos most of them are hers apparently.
However there are some than belong to other people and I guess you can eat them. Now Golden Eagle, hmmm that sound like a challenge.
