Warranty query
Discussion
I'm a tad concerned about a letter I've received from the dealer from whom I bought my Elise. In it, they're politely reminding me that I've missed my 6-month service, and by failing to take it in I may invalidate my 12-month warranty. I've had the car since May, but I've only done 3000 miles, so I don't really see the need for me to have it serviced twice a year. I've written to them to this effect.
Have I got cause for concern should something go wrong with the car?
Cheers,

Servicing schedules are determined by both time and mileage - whichever is achieved first.
Normally manufacturers will allow a month or a thousand miles leeway on this without invalidating warranties etc, however this isnt a hard and fast rule.
While at Ford I dealt with plenty of very low mileage Ka and fiestas where warranties were invalidated by failing to have an annual service, despite miniscule mileage.
Sorry to echo the bad news, but if you miss the schedule by too much, they WILL invalidate your warranty and likely any extended warranty purchased for the car.
