I've just watched my wife wrap up some of the presents we are going to give people.

It is a very careful operation everything planned in advance and neatly executed. It also seems to take her 1/2 hour to wrap up one present.

I took me far less time than that to wrap up the 4 presents I needed to wrap up, those for her.

She asked me whether I would like to wrap up a present with her to see how it is done neatly and I replied 'I don't really want to spend an hour wrapping up one present', she smiled but you could tell it was the wrong thing to say

I hate wrapping pressents! I seem better at the odd shaped ones - just use extra paper and be creative...it's sharp edged ones that keep ripping the paper which annoy me!!

JL,

I get your drift, man.

But to be fair, it takes me 10 minutes to make a sandwich.

Heh!

My wife will laugh if she reads this! She is lightning fast at wrapping presents - so neat, no paper wasted, no "not enough paper" mishaps. I did one and made such a bloody mess of it that I was just on sellotape duty for the rest of the evening!

One of the cleverest things I've bought in years is a Scotch 3M wrist sellotape dispenser. It dispenses precut lenghts of tape and reduces the effort of wrapping presents to virtually nowt.

I wrapped 30 presents the other night in about a couple of hours. Neat too. No sweat.

What is it about women and present wrapping? Something genetic? My wife wraps presents with clinical precision but my attempts look like I was half pissed at the time (OK.. so I was but thats beside the point. I can't wrap neatly even when sober)

The solution to that is to get a good quality paper, as it will be thicker and more resistant to tears. The only problem is where to find it!

Well I wrapped my wifes presents, then went upstairs to get the gift tags. Came back down to find my 14 month undaughter had ripped open two of the presents!

I wasn;t too impressed! But she did look pleased with herself!

I dont mess about when wrapping stuff up - its only going to get ripped off anyway..

Run out of sellotape this year- so had to use staples to do a few..perhaps I should issue a warning with them?!
