Boxster Insurance Cost
Discussion
Looking for some advice on what I should expect to pay on my new Boxster 2.7, due for delivery in a couple of weeks.
I'm 30, live in a good quiet area, have 5 years NCB but have an SP30 plus one insurance claim, as has missus.
I've been quoted £850 for the year by my insurance company. Which seems reasonable to me. But having never owned a Porsche before would appreciate some advice as to whether this seems a good price or would I be better going with a porsche specialist?
Cheers

No one here can be any more accurate than ringing insurance co's or brokers, but I would advise you try 1) Privilege and 2) Nowell and Richards. Try google searches as I don't have their details immediately to hand, but Privilege have a good reputation for quotes on fast cars, and Nowell and Richards are a favourite of the Porsche community (used them before, very good customer care, low prices underwritten by Norwich Union).

That sounds like a reasonable price. You might do slightly better if you go hunting. Direct Line were the cheapest by far for me...but DON'T USE THEM..IF...you are considering going on a track day.
I was told that track days were specifically NOT covered by Direct Line policies. So I went with Privelige via Amex - got a slightly more expensive deal but it covers track days in the UK.
Getting seperate track day cover (to a reasonable value e.g. the value of a new Boxster) is VERY expensive...I was quoted £600 for a DAY! Understandably I said "No Thanks..."
