Very strange thing happened today. Wizzing down a country lane and heard a noise like something falling off the car or as if i had driven over something metalic. Something made me go back and see what it was.

In the middle of the road I found a 6 cm x 3 cm brass plaque with spot welding marks at each corner. It is engraved with the following:

Manufactured by CLF TECH LTD 11/03 LOTAC05108

Is this off my car or is it just a random piece of metal in the road
? Bit of a coincedence if it isnt bearing in mind date of manufacture is the same as my car.

Who are CLF Tech?
Confused

Look on the bright side poptosis - your car is now lighter. Say 70g for a brass plate - that makes your power to weight ratio at least 0.01% better. All that and it didn't cost you a bean.

You might as well pull the entire exhaust off and save even more weight

Sorry guys - pistonheads was doing strange things yesterday. I tried to post it, but it kept giving me error messages. Now I see the same thing got posted 3 times. This is the first time it has loaded up since then. Anyway, I deleted the offending triple post.

Poptosis - glad to hear that you have indeed benefitted from the thundering performance gains.

CLF are Magnex Exhausts who made the sports Exhaust for Lotus.

This plate is normally in the centre of the silencer.

I hope the rest of your exhaust is welded better
