Chimp seats in a Wedge??!??

I was thinking of getting the leather seats 'looked at' but I have has some quotes on getting them re-covered and then thought better of it.

I was thinking of getting some new magnolia Chimp seats fitted, better shape and more supportive me thinks. Anybody fitted these already? Any issues making them fit or are they a direct swap out?

I don't really wanna go drilling new mounting holes and all that malarky.

You mean like the ones I showed you in mine ??

Went in with no problem, no redrilling, just removed an extra on the chimp seat so it sat flat, and certainly a lot more supportive than the originals

Easy job Mike. Just take the adaptor plates off the originals and fit them to the Chim seats. No redrilling required. I find mine very comfortable and they give me a bit more room in the cockpit than the originals too, as the back squabs are a bit slimmer than the originals.

I found that most after market seats were too wide to fit in the space, due to large transmission tunnel. I think the only other seat was a Corbrau GT but that started to get into silly money for a pair of leather recliners and runners so went the cheap option of @ £350 for a set of TVR late Chim seats

Would the early cerbera seats (the ones used in the Griff SE) or the tuscan seats fit?

Mike, personally there isn't huge amounts of difference between Wedge (1980 Tasmin) and Chim (1995) seats in terms of comfort or support. If anything the side in the Tasmin are better than the Chimaera's. Make sure you try the Chim ones to see if they're as much as an improvement as you hope before you get them.

Contact me through my profile if you want to try a Chim seat, the interior is stripped from my Chim and I could courier a seat, or otherwise to you if you want to try it for size.

I must have had some later ones, as they seemed to be more shaped and firmer than the wedge ones, a bit more bucket like, and to me were more comfortable on the run to Le Mans last year than the previous year in the Wedge seats

Graham, where's he based? His profile said W.Midlands last time I checked which could be almost anywhere. I'm often driving the M6/M5 corridor so would be happy to call by and return the favour.
