Hi John, sorry to hear of your steering woes. I remember having the same happen to me, not long after our T350c was new.
It was virtually undrivable aswell.
Now here is the possible fix (well it worked on mine) If you look down the gap in the front of the bonnet, you should see a large round connectin box, that is the junction for the electronic power steering, I had apparantly washed the car too much,(Michael caines words) and got water inside the connector, as TVR had mounted it upside down, would you believe (yes you would believe) so that the cap on top to keep the water out, was actually letting water in.
Are you keeping up sofar??? Castle TVR fixed it for me in no time at all. It just needed blowing out with compressed air, then drying with warm air.
Remount the connector with fresh cable ties, and Bob should be you uncle (I hope) try that first anyway.

And if Valhalla's fix fails, you may have the same issue as I did. The power steering pump had died and required replacement, a Citroen part it transpires.

Cheers,
Howard

My guess it that yes - it would not be good.. after all some parts
of the system would be designed to have a light load and applying loads of veverage would not be good.. OK just to load on to a low loader though..

Might be worth calling the AA - they can ofter do these road side fixes - so long as you can offer advise like the above..

Good luck.

Might be worthwhile checking your fuses, I'm sure that one of the fuses is there to protect the pump circuit. I know that we have had a couple of cars that have popped the fuse and lost power assistance. Hope this helps and Happy New Year!

Check the 80amp fuse behind the battery cover (it runs from the battery, inboard along the outrigger at the bottom of the chassis and is held in a small black housing probably tie-wrapped to the outrigger) - this fuse powers the steering pump . You'll need to remove the nsf wheel. Good luck.
