Hi All - Happy Xmas - quick bit of advice from the techies required...

my girlfriend bought me an iPod for xmas - she already has one and has her iTunes set up on my laptop -

Is there an easy way of running separate ipods from the same iTunes software without having the same set of tracks each?

don't particularly wish to have her tunes polluting my finely honed music collection

cheers Y'all!

You can have multiple iPods bound to one laptop but not the other way round (you can't have one iPiod and use it on multiple iTunes unless you use other software).

You can prevent all your g/fs tracks being copied automatically by setting it not to automatically sync your iPod. That way, you have to manually drag the songs / playlists you want from iTunes onto the iPod.

Or have your own playlists each and set them to only sync your own playlists.

Yep it is piracy according to the american music industry who require you to purchase a seperate copy of the music for every device you want to put it on. They say making a copy for your car and a copy for your personal player will kill the industry. They also said the same about home twin deck tape recorders and you all remember when home taping killed the music industry! Wait a sec...

Should work, and I wouldnt worry about the copies of music too much.

Easiest way is to create 2 user log ons on XP, and have each persons itunes in each log on.
