Whilst in Goa I met an Austrian chap and a friend of mine has some silly bets going with him that we need proof of to win...

1. Downstairs toliet on an Airbus. We say it exists Mr Austrian says never!

2. Basle Airport is split into 2 - one side puts you out in Switzerland the other France? Again Mr Austrian doesn't believe us despite my friend having used the airport on many occasions and him never having done so...

Thanks everyone!

A1. Yes. Had one on the airbus that didn't get me home from Canada in September (computer fault stopped takeoff). It does depend on model and when it was fitted out. Also on what the airline specified from the options list.

A2. Sorry don't know. Although Geneva airport is split like this.

A quick Google search throws up this
"Basel airport, known as "Euroairport", is shared between Switzerland and France. The border runs through the airport terminal."

So it sounds like your friend is correct...
