I drove up to scotland on friday night for christmas and noticed the speedo was all over the place, both the digital readout and the needle! Drove back yesterday and the speedo is not working at all now.
Everything else is fine, i.e. other digital readouts and the rev counter.
Anyone any suggestions? Sure i heard someone talk about a connection in the boot that can come loose but not sure whereabouts this is?
Thanks!!

Sounds like the Speedo sensor has failed.

Was it raining/very wet?

Mine did the same some time back after driving through some dreadful weather. Booked it in for a replacement - took 4 weeks to get one! - but it started working again (mad at first) as I was driving to the Dealers. Still got it changed though.

Sounds like the transducer. I had three on my first Tuscan. It's a common fault.

Ta! Any idea of cost for a speedo sensor/transducer?

I think a transducer is about £70 plus VAT. But........... I wouldn't pay for one as it is a known design fault. I refused to pay for the last one that went even though the car was out of warranty. (Assuming that the issues are the same with the T350 as the Tuscan).

Nice one! That must have been where i read about the plug-in connector in the boot. I'll have a look for it tonight (under the carpet somewhere i assume). If not i guess i'll need to book it in!
Don't remember it being particularly wet on the road so don't know if it's that. Might be the vibration from the sports exhaust like that guy suggested.
Cheers guys!!

Chris

The speedo sensor has a connector under the boot carpet just before the petrol tank (Tamora)but should be somewher near as it comes into the boot area right above the axle. Mine had exactly the same symptons, the plug was together but not pushed fully home, this was some months ago now and perfect ever since. Could be a faulty sensor but worth checking this connection.

When a new sensor is installed it would be connected properly so just wonder how many have been changed that maybe did not need to be.

Still waiting to get out and have a look for the connector. Haven't been using the car this week cos of the weather so have just left the cover over it . Will check this weekend and let you know!

We agree at last! They are the same sender type/ issues on all Sp6 models (except Cerbera). You definitely should push for warranty. HNY.

Damn it if I don't read this thread and the next day my speedo (dial and readout) on the 'Gris both start wobbling. And now intermittent and irritating. Also had the sensor replaced on the Chim last year.
