I had a deposit down on a 997 but after I testdrove the 997 S last year I decided not not go for one. I'll be on the lookout for a 996TT or GT3 Mk2 in spring, I may source a car from an independent so I understand there shouldn't be an issue taking my deposit back from OPC as I didn't spec a car therefore the deposit is fully refundable.

Can anyone advise if there are any problems??

Cheers

I did sign a form to formalise putting down a deposit on a 997. The terms and conditions on the reverse states until I spec a car, the money is fully refundable or I could put towards another car. I didn't confirm a spec though.

Should be able to get your money back quite easily - they do like to give it to you back in the form you gave it to them, e.g. if you paid by CC they like to refund to the same CC, and they are not always particularly quick about handing the cash back, but they do!
