3200GT Re-set the electric seats?
Discussion
Ok here's a couple of comman fixes taken from the maserati workshop manuals.
it may be worth printing these off as (if you keep the car) you will need them again at somepoint.
Seat memory lose:-
Adjust the seat to the disired position.
Turn on ignition but do not start the engine.
Tilt the seat forward.
With the seat still tilted forward, adjust the seat base as far forward as it will go.
Tilt the seat back.
The seat will then return to the desired position.
This reteaches the maximum movement of the seat too the memory.
This generally occurs when on eof two things has happened. 1) the seat has been left in the tilt forward position for too long, or 2) the seat was in the tilt forward position when the ignition position was changed, either turned on or off.
Throttle potentiometer reset.
Turn ignition on but do not start the engine.
leave the throttle pedal in the tick over position for 2 minutes.
Depress the throttle to full throttle for 5 seconds then release.
Switch off the ignition.
Again this reteaches the maxium and minimum settings to the potentiometer.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, that explains the seat. I normally leave it forward, get my daughter in the back and put the seat back upright when the engine is running. (during the week this makes it easier for the nursery run) then when my wife gets in at the weekend the seat never re-sets itself to her position. Now I know why.

Nearly but not quite - The precise instructions are in fact 2 separate operations as follows:
1) Reset the mechanical zero position
- Put gear lever in neutral
- Switch on ignition (to MAR position) but do NOT start the engine
- Do not touch the throttle pedal for 2 minutes
- Switch off ignition
2) Reset the mechanical Full Throttle position
- Put gear lever in neutral
- Switch on ignition (to MAR position) but do NOT start the engine
- Fully depress throttle pedal and hold for 5 seconds
- Release throttle pedal completely
- Switch off ignition
The full text does not specify waiting until the various warning lights have extinguished themselves after switching on ignition, but I do not depress throttle (item 2) or start timing until they have.
