window motor mechanism

i have a 2.5 boxster 97. Can anyone please tell me the cheapest place to purchase the window mechanism that opens and closes the window? mine has packed up and ive heard this is a common problem? Sorry, dont know the technical name for it - i thought it would of been a case of just replacing the cable but apparently i have to buy the full unit.
