Any series in S.E. England for a Zetec 1800 one-off Kitcar?
Discussion
I am considering re-engining a Fletcher Hornet (1 of 5) Kitcar from 1600 Ford X-flow to Ford Zetec 1800 (standard engine apart from Weber 40s) to do the 750 Motor Club Kitcar Champ again. However, based in Oxford, many of the circuits are up to 3 hours drive away e.g. Cadwell & Snetterton, so I am thinking twice about doing this Championship.
Does anyone know of any Championships (that my car would be eligible for) that concentrate on circuits in the South or South East of England to reduce the travel issue? I have looked at SEMSEC but Lydden is as far from me as Snetterton & Cadwell.
Is there still such a thing as the 'Southern Saloon and Sportscar Championship' and if so, are there any details about it on the web?
N.B. I will choose a different engine to fit in with regs if necessary. Also, racing as an invitation (ineligible for points) in any series would be fine as long as:
a) The organisers would allow it
b) The car would be reasonably competitive (Westfield 1800s maybe?)
Anyone got any suggestions, or know where to get a summary of all the championships available please?

I dont think there is a southern series for sports and saloons. I was under the impression that the TRC championship and the SEMSEC championship were the only "south" based championships for those type of cars. you will most likely get an entry in the castle combe special GT championship as there is always a "catch-all" philosophy to that championship. i dont think too many organisers run invitational classes these days but you could always try. too much trouble if the "invitational" car takes out a championship contender i would guess?!?
