Oil Pressure & Speedo Sensors (Speed Six Cars)

Can anyone tell me if these are items that are normally kept in stock, or are they the subject of long factory lead times?

Also has anyone experienced an Oil Pressure Warning Code with the engine at high revs? I have noticed that regardless of engine speed the Oil Pressure will not climb above 28 PSI, but will drop to 19 PSI at idle. I am hoping this is a sensor problem, hence my question about the part, but will not be driving the car until it is collected by the dealer just in case.

I've also had some erratic oil presssure sensor readings - there are several threads here on the subject. No speedo issues with the 'Gris: cetrtainly had some interestring ones with the Chim.

I had a problem with the oil pressure sensor on this Tuscan when it was new. I was getting very low readings which was v worrying. The dealer diagnosed a faulty sensor and I tooled around for a week with the damn thing bleeping at me until the new one arrived.

Like the speedo transducer this is a regular fault.

Agree with everyone sofar. I have now had three oil presure censors on my T350, two in two weeks infact!! this is a common fault.

The symptoms you describe are exactly the same as I’ve had with faulty oil pressure senders. I had 5 or 6 new senders last summer – each lasted about 500 miles before it broke and wouldn’t read above 28/29PSI. Fortunately TVR Power sorted out one that actually worked – I think they recalibrated one from a Chimaera or something like that. It seems there was a “bad batch” of the standard Sp6 ones.

I don’t know what the stock situation is now, but when I had problems the dealers didn’t have any. I just kept calling the factory and getting them sent directly to me. If your dealer can’t get one I’d also try TVR Power as they did have some in stock.

There should be a new design available- Barnet had them in a couple of weeks back.I have had one fitted and its fine now after going through five I think (I honestly lost count).
