What is the latest on the Rise of the Phoenix?
Discussion
Its rising, albeit slowly
New crankshaft, cams have arrived.... now waiting for the pistons/rods/liners to turn up, still!!!! but have been assured they will arrive in the next couple of weeks... I wont hold my breath though
to be honest, this is the last hurdle, after this its pretty much all assembly, all the other gear is already in storage.
Btw, Jon did you hear about the 11 litre Vauxhall Calibra being the worlds fastest road legal car?

Ahhh Mr Pateman's Calibra..
Not exactly the fastest street car, but the fastest in a knockout competition..
Bloody impressive car mind you..
But.. Keep an eye out for Andy Frost's (he's a member of PH donchaknow!) Victor next year, he's moving from Nitrous Big Block power to twin turbo BB power!!! (you might recognise the Victor from the 118 adverts!)
Good to hear that things are moving along Ash, we're making progress, a nice delivery arrived from the states recently... Full Dart Pro 1 top end kit, Eagle Rotating assembly, KB HE pistons .. etc etc etc... mmmmmmm
Keep in touch Ash,

I prefer the Street Sleeper look - putting new clutch combo (std is not great for 6.5 reall fast shifts - the bore of the release bearing pipes to small and clutch is too heavy - likely get a fly wheek to - will loose me best part of 10kg! and worth 5+bhp) in mine in next few months then looking at getting 420+ real BHP.
Yours IS going to be tastefully done - please tell me this - I know it has to be widened but please not the full Neulin stuff (they do great work - but not for TVR's!)

Jon, I think you'll like it, we kept it tame, it wasnt easy, weighing up aerodynamics against asthetics and all that... There will be a full press release not too long from now, so I'll get my umbrella ready for all the critique... but I am confident that on the whole it will received well, it was crucial to keep a production car look rather than all out drag or funny car look... fingers crossed, now I'm sweating
(please let them like the abomination which was once one of the most beautiful cars in the world)
I think you will be more than relieved when you see the pics in a few weeks

A Dart Pro top end? looks like you're upping the stakes! what you aiming for this year?
Ideally we'd like to be in the 9's..
Building a 383, we're estimating power between 450 and 550 Hp (yes, I know that's a wide prediction, but we're not 100% sure how everythign will perform as yet) and about the same in torque.. Stick that in a 680Kg car and it should leap off the line quite nicely!
I have a feeling we'll be uprating the rear-end at some point next season as well
