Is that the magazine one?

You're not seriously considering getting it surely! There are 95 editions to build the thing and at 7 quid each, thats £665 and you have to wait basically 2 years for it to be built. It will probably be shit quality and almost impossible to get parts for. Those collection magazines are a joke, cannot believe they are worth publishing!

I think the publishers are deagostini.

I speak from experience - do NOT buy into the De Agostini R/C models. They are 3 times the cost and half the quality of even the most basic Tamiya.

Mine destroyed itself hitting a ladybird once. I fixed it then the diff shattered 3 times. Now in loft, lesson learned!

I think it was these people:

www.deagostini.co.uk/

I seem to recall there are some 90 odd editions to collect and at £6.99 that's soon going to add up to a car that you could have bought from a model shop for half the price!

Edit: looks like I was beaten to it while I looked up the publisher!

I work/design for the company that did the part work for the boats that were in the mags, trust me when I say you are wasting your money, you will be paying DOUBLE the price for an equivalent ready boxed kit, and there's no guarantee the company that are producing the parts for the BMW will see it to the bitter end, if there's not enough take up with the mag, you'll find yourself wanting. I know how it works! Buy yourself a Tamiya kit instead, you'll have a lot more fun, and the detail will be perfect!

Dont forget that the remote is at extra cost too, plus you have the hassle of getting it cos the newsagent lost interest after week 5 etc.

Believe or not, but these magazine publications have had a really positive effect in the model making market, I know the part works arn't much cop, but it has got a large number of people, who previously wouldn't even consider, or indeed know, that these models exsist, and so they actually have helped as a 'springboard' into proper kit models.
Having said that, the amount of phone calls we get, asking for parts and fittings for these part work kits are huge! They moan like hell about the part-kits, but they have also bought 'normal' kits, after getting the 'bug'
My advice is to always buy a decent kit from a decent manufacturer, though, it will be more money initially, but the fun and pleasure you'll get overall is well worth it, and a lot more satisfying, a bit like waiting for the proper DVD version of your fave film to come out, and buying it from the shops, rather than no being able to wait and getting a pirate version, which dulls the experience.

as said, expensive rip off's. i got into RC models many moons ago with a tamiya mad bull. even from beatties it cost me a small sum (about £150 from memory), in comparison to what you can spend on models. Cant go wrong with tamiyas as an intro into RC.
