I have the recaro buckets in my GT3 and also the additional buckle under the passenger seat to deactivate the airbag.

This works fine if you buy a porsche child seat - which I don't have and am loathe to buy unless I have no alternative (the current seat we use in our other cars fits in the GT3 bucket seats and is a top rated one for safety and comfort)

The buckle unit under the seat does not appear to be of "standard" size, so I'm not sure buying a seatbelt extension just to plug into this unit to deactivate the airbags will work.

Has anybody tried anything like this, or is it really a case of buying another shiny item with porsche emblem on it?

Thanks!

Not sure about the buckle size, but I've had a similar problem with getting a seat to fit in the back of my cab.... The current Porsche item is too bulky and too expensive. I ended up buying a Porsche Prince (no longer made) from a punter on Ebay. There appear to be between 1-4 coming up at a time and at the moment they seem to go for anything from 180 - 250 quid...... They have the correct deactivation buckle of course... Most are almost new, so maybe worth a look.....

I think you can get the passenger airbag disabled - ask your friendly OPC.
