Got mine within a few days of ordering via email - this was in June time though. I think delivery times will vary depending on whether Clive Reed at Zertec is abroad or not - from what I've read on some threads this could be fairly often. I guess if you are able to speak or contact him directly you'll get a quick delivery.

Seems daft asking this kind of question. Why not call up the suppliers and ask them? Its a small community of folk that supply these bits - I'm sure you'll get a straight answer.

If you've "heard" something I suggest you take it up with the supplier. Hearsay can be such a damaging thing. Get it from the horses mouth - call them direct and then make your own mind up.

Well that's what I'd do. Sorry if its not your style. No offense intended.

Thunder

Sorry, I forgot why I visited your thread in the first place. I'm also interested in the afterburners and would appreciate it if you'd let us know how you get on with them if you decide to buy.

They involve the installation of an extra tank for Jet-A fuel, the hollowing out of the rear wings and installation of a pair of small no-bypass turbines, and the fitment of 375/30/18 Bridgestone SO3s at the rear.

Oh, and flameproof seat covers along with an incombustible driving licence.

Was the Merlin ever a jet engine?

As a journalist, can I just point out that the facts should not be allowed to spoil a good story...

I must have the later model, nicked off a smouldering pile just outside Paris. Have got Olympus on the side but I can't get them to take any photos.

You are of course correct , but I have long abiding memories of a Merlin engine strapped to a lorry Chasis sreaming along the drag strip at Blackbush airport many years ago, complete with a RR radiator!! It sounded like a jet which I think have afterburners, hence my question where are afterburners located in a car with an internal combustion engine???????

Think I saw the same vehicle at Brands Hatch but there I think they were using it to dry the racing line
