On the A32 outside of Corehampton about 14:30. If it was anyone on here I did see you wave but was fiddling with me straps at the time. I'll be sure to wave back next time.

Paul.

Yes paul twas me, I know the BRG can look a bit dark in the light and I know the cars a bit dirty at the moment but its Green underneath, I assure you .
When I spotted you I thought to myself 'thats ultimapaul I'll post a spotted thread later' as I know you use the road, very nice road too, even if it rained .
You were obviously on the way back and I was was on the way out for a blat, so to speak.

Took a turn down the 272 to Midhurst for a change today and saw a grey tamora who waved to my flash and a grey/lignt blue Griff who i don't think spotted me as he was a bit too close to the car in front of him, both cars were coming from Midhurst way, anyone on here?

Had an an S type jag souped up thingy try to attach himself to my exhaust at one point, didn't stay for too long though , had it been an ultima I'd have pulled over

Hi Harry. Are you local to me then? I'm in West End. Sorry about the colour error, you was almost past me before I saw you. I was on my way back. I'd been up the A33 from Winchester to Basingstoke & then back along the Alton road where I picked up the A32. I was lucky with the weather, it never started raining till I was in West End.

Mungo - Will that flashing be coming from your Cupra R when your traveling in the opposite direction or when your wishing to make an overtake?

Had to spend a good couple of hours cleaning the car today ...... I hate cleaning cars in this weather!

Paul.

Paul I'm in Mungo's favorite part of the world were the cab drivers won't take him home (Coming from South London originally myself I know the feeling, "sorry guv don't do south of the river" ) and there apparently are far too many CCTV camera's (or a lack of policemen if you look at it ).
Work in Southampton at the moment though.
Mungo how did last night go? haven't come acroos the post yet, must look harder

Harry

PS thats Gosport to you and me then

Hi Harry,

Small world, I saw you on Saturday as well! Was about 5mins behind the Tamora (coming out of Midhurst) driving a Grey Smart car, was feeling a bit ill at the time after being bounced about for a couple of hours (those things have got rock hard suspension!) but still had enough presence of mind to spot you haring down the road towards me – sounded glorious, I was very envious!!

Did you wave/toot your horn as you went pass?
re the exhaust note, unfortunately the one down side of Tivs is that once you're moving most of the exhaust music is for the benefit of those left in your wake , unless you're in a tunnel ,hence Tiv owners love of all things tunneled

Quote – “Did you wave/toot your horn as you went pass?” Errr, I was driving a Smart car? Would you have tooted and waved?!? Besides bloody thing was LHD so you’d have just looked at my empty passenger seat!!!

Agree with you re the noise, I remember a little tunnel in Stoneham (between Southampton and Eastleigh) I often used to play with in the S3 always, used to make me smile!! Looking on the bright side, you might not have been getting the full effect, but if it makes you feel any better it perked up an otherwise dull (and slow) drive for me!

Only said that as I got tooted twice on that stretch by a van and a eurobox, who I assunmed to be past/present Tiv owners in their everyday steeds. No I wasn't driving around with high beam and fog lights on either .
Theres a small but nice tunnel on the 272 just east of the 32/272 junction (West Meon Hut) which always brings a smile to my face though .

H - that one East on the 32 is weird because its only short and yet gives a bloody good roar!

Shnozz,

Glad I could be of help, hope you enjoy it as much as I used to!! It’s just not the same in my current car, ehm! Our off site car park is just off Stoneham lane so if you see a ‘you know what’ flashing you, that’ll be me!!

mungo - I have to admit I slow right down and stick it in second just to get the right sound - sad I know but the sound makes up for losing out of tearing around the corner

MattW - your secret is safe with me Will keep my eye out

Blimey lots of S's near me!

I live in Durley, between Hedge End and Bishops Waltham, and have a grey S2.

I'm sure I've seen you about in Hedge End a couple of times Harry. I wave but you probably wouldn't notice as I've been driving the Impreza!

The A32 is great, not only for the driveability of the route but the scenery also. Just thinking about shooting up to Alton on a summers evening with the roof down and then back to the Hampshire Bowman for a swift half gives me goose pimples. Roll on summer, or at least some dry weather!

I work at Southampton Airport so coming through the short tunnels, Wide lane or motorway roundabout, in 2nd gear pedal to the metal (oops....Fibreglass) wakes me up nicely!!

See you on the road
