Truck drivers joining the bolt-on-boy brigade

for the last few weeks ive been just about everywhere and have noticed lorrys with 2 blue leds in the window , what the feck is that all about then ? Also the 3 cd's (even some with leds poking through) in the front window ? makes me wonder what they are going to do next , are we going to see eddie stobart lorrys slammed to the deck with led washer jet led beesting ariels wikkid bodykits with whale tails and 30" three spoke wheels with rubber band tyres and a large hifi system ?

way too harsh lads! bit of harmless fun 'tis all. I'm sure it makes 'em feel better in some insiginificant way... so why not. I like blue leds - saw some nice ones on an R1, inside the fairing near to the rad. Looked great head on. Also I like the hidden foglight over the rear wheel, so it looks like the exhaust/engine is on fire. Oh, just me then.

Poor lads, the UK truckers get lumbered with poncy flat nose trucks and the US, Canada, Australia get big off Peterbuilts, Macks and Freightliners!
Drove on in Oz, totally mad.

I think its something to do with the length of the rig (tractor and trailer) the weight and the fact those big trucks has zero turning circle.

I have seen one or two on the road, and I think that lisping ponce boxer has one, that he drives on a car licence! Sacralidge.

It is something to do with the maximum length- I think its 16.5 meters.

Some tankers have "proper" lorries with nose jobs because they have shorter trailers...

Some recovery trucks also have long noses.

Oh, I'd love to see a Peterbuilt or a Kenworth on a Uk road....

Its most definately due to overall vehicle lenght. Some tankers are OK due to the lack of overhang at the rear, but there are some who are running Scania T cab (Conventional, as apposed to Cab Over) units with 46ft trailers, which are breaking the law. The other problem with the bonneted cabs is that of actuallt getting into places to unload, as the wheel base is far greater than a cabover unit.
