normally my gas powered crystal ball would resolve the need to explain details of any issue and automatically give answers but since the gas prices have gone up (only LPG here u know) Im being mean and not buying any, thus crystal ball is not working due to lack of gas.

give us a clue, what have you done so far ?

Is the wireless router set to only allow connections from trusted wireless clients?

Good call, how would i check that, and would it still allow you to connect through the ethernet cable but not wirelessley (sp)??

Potentially.

If you go to the admin page of the router and poke around in there there should be a security option.

Check that its all set as you want it (do you have another wireless client like a laptop?) and then set the Xbox to have the same settings.

I've gone into the admin page of the wireless and talk box thingie and it recognises 2 WIFI devices, i'm assuming one is my Laptop and 1 is Xbox, which is which though ??

I have a Wanadoo router as well but haven't tried to go the wireless Xbox route. Are you remembering to press button 1 (or 2, I can never remember which) on the Wanadoo router, ie. the button that allows it to search and connect to the receiver?

Also, how have you input the WEP key into the Xbox? Is there a screen where you can do this?

I have a Linksys W.A.P. and a Linksys 5-port wireless bridge and I can tell you quite categorically that this does not work for the XBox. I can FTP into the XBox, so the wireless bridge is doing its job, but I cannot get two XBoxes to connect on Halo2 linked play. I suspect that the XBox is using a low-level or non-standard protocol that the bridge isn't routing.

There are 1-port wireless bridges available that are specifically rated / compatible for XBox (and, not surprisingly, the most popular one is the Microsoft one), so you should check that the kit you are using supports XBox because quite clearly mine doesn't and I suspect yours doesn't either.
