front pulley removal

we are trying to get front pulley off my engine and it just won,t budge anybody got any ideas ? simon

If it's anything like a Ford you need a dedicated puller!

Do you mean the harmonic damper or the pulley. The pulley is held behind the crank bolt so that also needs removing aswell as the three other bolts. If it's the damper you mean then you will need a puller to remove it.

Machine Mart do one for £9.34. It's part No. CHT248.

You will need a puller.
Pretty much any other route will do damage.
They are on there very very tight.

ok guys will pick a puller up to do the job !!! i now when i am beat !! simon

I made a puller from a piece of steel. Find a big nut and bolt, weld the nut to the steel in the middle, then drill three holes that aligns with the three holes that attaches the pulleys to the damper. Bolt it on, then turn the big bolt in the middle, wich pushes against the crankshaft and pulls the whole thing off. Can post a pic if it helps.
