My son has gone working abroad for 6 months and his wife bought him a TECHNIKA portable DVD player from Tesco for £75 about 4 weeks ago, now they are in the sale for £65 so i`ve bought one today and they are OK, a bargain.

When i phoned my daughter-in-law and told her she was brassed off, she can`t take the player back because its with my son but she has got the recipt so i said go to Tesco and buy another one for £65 then take it back the day after with the £75 recipt saying that she recieved 2 of them for christmas and can she return this one.

Just to be on the safe side she could phone them before she buys one to ask if they will give her the cash back.

I know its a bit naughty but do you think it would work, do you know anybody thats done it before.

All that for £10? Is it worth it?

If it was a big difference it'd probably work and be worth it, but a lot of hassle for £10

My credit card refunds me if I buy a product that subsequently drops in price. I think it is within a 3 month period but I don't know what proof is needed.

Barclaycard, never tried to claim but they were good when we had a dispute over a faulty computer. They refunded us when the supplier refused and they took it up with the supplier. I have to tell them when I'm on holiday or they think it's fraud and stop the card. Which after the embarassment and inconvenience in the store, I realised was a good thing

Apparently Price Promise, Extended Warranties and Travel cover have since been scrapped by Barclaycard.
