Either my oil pressure sender or oil pressure guauge is dying. I'm getting an intermittent 0 psi oil pressure reading on the guauge, but the idiot light stays firmly off except while I start the engine, so I'm confident that it's not really got no oil pressure. Besides, I know what a Rover V8 would sounds like with no oil pressure!

Anyway - does anyone know where the pressure sender is located? The problem only manifested itself after leaving the car out in the rain overnight, so I'm hoping it's just a duff connection somewhere. All the other guauges are fine, so I guess it's probably not the connection or earth at the dash, more likely at the sender itself...?

Thanks in advance,
Pete

Replaced my old V8S oil pressure gauge as it had exactly the same faults as you describe.
It is by the oil filter and is a black cylindrical thingy with a wire on the end. It just unbolts as easy as pie.
