Just a quick hello to all you Chimp owners.

Just bought a gorgeous 1999 500 (from another PHer) after selling my Cerb. Hope it provides as many grins! Already got myself a copy of Mr Heath's bible for Christmas

Lovely Car!

What made you sell the Cerbera?

I had a Cerb and thought it was fantastic!, but had to get rid of it prior to a house purchase. A couple of years on and the Chim was a more affordable way to get another TVR and I love it! (Although have now spent a small fortune on 'enhancements'!)

I hope you enjoy the Chim as much as I do!

Hi, and welcome! I'm sure you'll have big fun. Congrats on the car, she looks like a beauty. Being able to put the roof down certainly compensates for any lost performance...even then, a 500 is no slouch!

Why did you trade up (!) from the Cerb, out of interest?

Oh, yeah...personal request...PLEASE don't call her a "Chimp"! "Chim" is fine.....

Thanks for the comments. Got her checked out by Andy at APM prior to purchase - couple of bits need doing (only serious one is the diff needs replacing) but generally in very good nick. Chassis looks a really good one - powder coating all still intact.

Traded in the Cerb because I'm looking to buy a new house this year so needed to raise a bit of cash and run something a bit cheaper. Can't believe this was half the cost of the Cerb to buy, it's definitely worth the money!

BTW, anyone got GAZ shocks on their Chim? Got a slight leak on one of the fronts and thinking of changing them all for these adjustable ones, as recommended by Andy. Do they make much of a difference?

Did similar thing as needed cash injection for business. I've come from T350 to Chim 450. Must say am not disappointed. Only thing is I'm already spending on up-grades, bugger.

Just curious - how did you find the change? I've already gone the other way (as you did) from Rover V8 to Speed 6 and I'm wondering how you find the V8's second time around.

Sort of like sitting in a favourite chair, already moulded around my old bum. Old faithful. Back in touch with an old friend sort of. A change [back] in driving style of which I don't mind. Found the T350 a truly great car. But, needs must. Also, Whenever I did give the T350 the gun which I found addictive, couldn't help the thought [and I DON'T want to start another row here] is it going to let go? Don't have that with the V8.
