Hmmm....

Parked up on the street outside my house on the 24th, not planning to use the car for the xmas period, vaguely noticed that 'Refill' had appeared on the stack.

Returned on the 30th and went to check over the car for interference, bird poo etc. Jumped in, turned the key, lights on, starter motor, and .... nothing, nada, zip. Just Chung, Chung, Chung. Nuts.

Thought "What the hell" and returned to the house. Idle thought that evening - what if the camber on the road is leaving whatever fuel remains in the tank away from the pump outlet?

Next day ... put a gallon in the tank, turn the key ... chung chung chung ... Nuts.

Called the AA man .... pouring with rain, the poor bloke put his waterproofs and everything on, comes and stands by the car while I turn the key and she STARTS FIRST TIME!!!

Obviously I'm overjoyed, AA man not so much

I reckoned it could be that the fuel I put in a hour earlier took that time to reach some sort of reservoir in the tank. Anybody had this?

J

Only joking mate - I've had some shockers with the RAC before, but generally due to flat batteries in my old Mini days. Leaving the bl--dy headlights on and draining it to death on several occasions. My crowning glory moment was going to an Oasis concert at Wembley and leaving the sidelights on, draining it completely. RAC man comes and jumpstarts me in front of a mates house at about 1am at which point (for some unknown reason) the alarm started blasting and I couldn't turn it off.

Woke up the whole street.
