Seat adjustment?
Discussion
Hi guys, I have a question you might be able to answer for me. I keep thinking about a used 04 Monaro - I sometimes transport my kids and after looking at a showroom model saw some potential problems with the seats and quick rear seat access.
The electric movement appears to be very slow and it seems you have to use this for flipping the seats forward. Is there any mod to disable the electric side of it and just convert it to a standard flip forward movement?
Also the front seats themselves seemed a bit high, to me, even on the lowest setting, has anyone modified theirs?
Any comments gratefully appreciated

Hi Mark,
I agree that the process is a bit slow, but I didn't let it put me off even though we have to get 2 kids in and out of the back.
The flipping forward of the seat is actually manual. It is this action which then triggers the whole seat to slide forward automatically. I would say that unless the driver is quite short, that you would have to slide the seat forward too, as just flipping the seat back does not give anough room to allow access to the back.
One little hint though....when sliding the drivers seat back again, use the memory seat buttons instead of the button on the back of the seat, then you get it back in exactly the right position.
Haven't had any issues with the height of the seat; I get plenty of clearance under the steering wheel.
Cheers,
Neil

Agree with what Rocket said. Haven't had mine for too long but have found no problems with seat height adjustment. The seat is higher than my Camaro was but with seat base at it lowest at the back and with the front of it tipped up slightly I have no problems - I am 6'3". As for tipping them forward, I don't have kids to get in and out so perhaps less of an issue for me. Yes it does require a bit of patience and I have found that the seat bolsters are such that the seat back shows a desire to flop back again once lifted forward. From my perspective the inconvenience is minimal when compared to the rest of the car. Incidently the manual does say that the return button on the side of the seat returns it to its original position with a two second pause before moving further......so far mine seems to work in this way (and hopefully will continue to!!)

I only read that bit cos I collected the car in the dark, had to get something off the back seat when I parked up and then couldn't get back in, and on the basis that was before Christmas it couldn't have been on account of having eaten too much!!!........ok, I admit it I did read the entire manual but it was more interesting that what my wife was watching on telly
