Firefox slow to load / render images
Discussion
Recently I've noticed that Firefox (1.5 and earlier versions too) have become extremely slow to load images. For example, on the Gassing Station home page, each "new" image takes a couple of seconds to load, as does each "quote" button on forum topic pages. This is not restricted to PH - everything is doing it.
The problem does not exist in IE6 so I don't think it's my broadband connection. I've also switched from Norton AntiVirus to AVG Free Edition - but the image problem still occurs if it's disabled totally, and the virus scanning performance everywhere else is streets ahead of the Norton software.
It looks to me like there's some caching problem or something - multiple occurrences of the same image (e.g. the "new" icon) seem to individually reload as the page loads. Have cleared the cache, upgraded and reinstalled Firefox.
Any ideas?
