993 RS article in GT Purely Porsche
Discussion
Went down to W H Smith to take a look at the Feb 2006 issue of 'Octane' magazine which had an article on the 993 RS. Thought it looked rather uninteresting so didn't buy the mag; read it in the shop instead. The author of the article was driving a midnight blue RHD 993 RS on sale at Hendon Way Motors, discussed on this site a month or so back and still seemingly for sale, albeit with no declared sale price due to their website's laughable pricing policy, which I quote from below:
"It has always been our policy to sell such cars at the most competitive price possible and we endeavour to offer a complete sales package to clients that betters any of our competitors. Such a package is tailored to individual client’s needs whether there is a part exchange involved, finance required, specialist shipping or insurance, or a warranty protection plan needed. It is for this reason and the constant change in market condition that we cannot list individual prices."
Er yes, I'm sure HWM's pricing policy is intended to offer the best sales package etc and not at all to try to take the punter for as much as poss...... Anyway, I digress.
The reason for my post is that when in WHS I noticed that the Jan 2006 issue of GT Purely Porsche also had an article on the 993 RS by Chris Harris. Thought that much better; sufficiently good that I even bought the magazine (plus I wanted to read about the 997s that one can rent in Germany). He was driving a white RHD 993 RS around South Wales. From the comments in the mag I'm pretty sure it must have been the white RS (Reg: N300 RSL) that was for sale at OPC Bristol a month or two back and mentioned on this site. I see that it now doesn't appear for sale so presumably it has been sold. Those others of you of the 993 RS persuasion might want to take a look, but be quick as I think that next month's is due out v soon.
Regards
Nigel
