i need a cheap laptop but dont know where to start. i am going back to uni so all it needs to do is run microsoft office and championship manager 4! i would like a nice small one but only have a meagre budget of upto £400 so realise that a secondhand/reconditioned one might be my best option. any places wher I should be looking?
I love a bargain and picked up a version of one of these a while back for just under £400:

Yes Acer are no IBM when it comes to build quality but must say mine has served me well and it is nice and slim when closed which makes it easy to carry. DVD writer built in as well. No wireless built in on this one which is a shame as mine does but can always pick up a cheap wireless card if you find you need it.
My sister bought a dell for around the same money and whilst maybe better built etc it does feel a bit of a brick in comparison.
