Anyone know the current owner and why he is selling?

Hope it goes to a good home.

Current owner is John H on the TVRCC site, doesn't say why he's selling it though.

It's just had the big service at Racing Green too, looks like he's not touched it since you handed over the keys Jeremy, so will be a fine purchase.

Yes, spotted it at Racing Green a couple of weeks back. I'd love it.

Edited to add: Its a very tempting price as well

What exactly has the lightweight got on it that is 'lightweight'?

Thinner door panels and bonnet, the bonnet especially it noticeably lighter. It also excludes sun visors and has the newer Tuscan style seats , which may or may not be lighter.

General concensus is that is still doesn't weight the quoted 1100Kg, not sure what figure it is though, I recall Evo quotes something like 1250Kg when they took an RR to the AMG or Brabus factory.

Some say that the "lightweight" is actually heavier than some original cars though...

It also coincided with a revised roll cage (flattened front hoop positioned further back from the windscreen), revised A-pillar trim and the later front lights. Oh, and spider wheels.

So all Cerbs after the face lift have the later lights (as TVR bodyshop stylee type ones ish).

But done at the factory.

That's a pretty good pice for it I would have thought ... shuld be an 01 reg then? Don't know whether he's asking more for the plate or the plate can be negotiated out of the price ?

Not as simply as that - this is TVR we're talking about after all. Initially only the 4.5 lightweights had the revised lights. Eventually the 4.2 and Speed Six variants also had them (though I can't remember the changeover dates). Oh, and of course the light pods originally weren't blended in, but the later cars were.

No, it is a 2001 (Y) car.

Don't anyone tell Jerery's misses - or the Aston will have to be traded in against the Cerb

I think if the truth got out about the so called lightweight, you would find that it is not light at all, or the 40 odd KG it is meant to be lighter... Something to do with the 'sinking in the molds' i was told for the lightweight pannels, and more filler having to be used in the joints to the pannels look seamless again...

Hhhhmm, is there any thruth there??? Only TVR really know...

Heres an intersting thing. My standard 1997 4.2 was corner weighted and balanced for last season and it weighed 1220kg on a professional set of race scales so not much over the book weight so i dont thik they are all too heavy. The 1220 kg also included 20 litres ie 20kg of fuel which is what I use when I run.
