Anyone else itching ?

I'm missing driving the Griff.

Its cold, wet and slippy with no end in sight. Is there a cure.

Its getting a run every week, once or twice but its generally boring engine warming stuff. I'm longing for some really dry roads so I can give it some roofless hooliganism.

I need some long dry English sunset evenings to speed off into the distance with the V8 rumble pulling me along.

I need to be at Oulton Park, sitting on the grass verge getting burnt, next to the Griff, watching some Tuscans blasting round to the smell of cut grass and barbeques.

I hate this time of year!

Yep, the days between Xmas and New year were damp, wet and cold. usually we do get a cold but dry period with blue skies when you can get out in the Griff with the roof off!

Tis a depressing time for Tiv drivers. I do still take mine out once a week, but drive her rather tentatively, so not much fun really.

Still, think of all the money you are saving on optimax bills

I feel the same way.
Tired of mucky greasy roads, and wasteful wheelspinning.

Was out topdown yesterday, but alas no hooligan type driving possible.

Only way that I survived not driving the Cerb was to make sure I couldn't!

hmm, i have a slightly different problem...

The Fiesta is broken so having to use the Cerb daily - its very mucky now and looks sad, it also tries to kill me in protest every day

Today it tried whilst in third gear on the dual carraigeway; i was simply trying to put a BMW in its place

It's soooo depressing.
I have a shiny new Sag in my garage that is in desperate need of some run in miles.

No doubt the wife will have some family outing (with kids) planned on the first dry day of the year

I'm itching, its so frustrating doing the weekly pootle round, not planted the loud pedal in months. I've resorted to watching my 'CREAM' dvd over xmas to remind me of track action & fun in the sun

Just go and drive them! I've not stopped driving the Griff (well apart from the last 2 days due to a dead battery) just because it's a bit damp outside.

OK, it does have a look for the odd hedge from time to time, and at times it's very easy to find yourself doing 5000 RPM, 0 mph forwards and 5 mph sideways... Just take care and go easy on the right foot (with both pedals!)

The mud isn't permanant - it does wash off you know

Get out and drive them. It may not be as enjoyable as summer, but it's a damn site better than sitting looking at them.

I gotta say im quite enjoying driving at the mo.

It takes quite a bit of skill handling a TVR on the slippy stuff, so i feel like i may actually be learning a bit!!

I remember seeing Schumacher at Monaco one year on a soaking wet track and he ran rings round the oppostition.

Its when the conditions are bad that you see just how good a driver you really are..

(obviously if i post a message next week having ended up in a ditch then i will be suggesting we all wait till Summer! )

Had a a great morning round North Wales today and only had one sideways moment entering the slip road onto the A55 on the way back. Superb day though even if it was a bit cold with the roof off. Though i did attract the attention of a couple of bobbies in a Panda as I was making my way over the Llandegla moors.

Best advice so far! Get out there and use them.

Be warned though, the rain hasn't washed all the salt away as I found out loosing traction in second on a bend over a drain cover, caught it easily enough though. After a cross-Hampshire jaunt today the car looks like it's covered 7 stages of the RAC rally - boy it looks good!
Just remember, easy on the right foot, read well ahead and you'll be fine.

This thread prompted me to just go out for a spin in the Tamora. I'm off work sick, but hey, what harm will a quick drive out do? Not out for long, enough to get warmed up, and to get the change up lights working! I am itching for those longer spring days............

Well said, How many times has it been mentioned that TVR's of any age make very bad garage queens!
