Need an address that is not mine ...
Discussion
Chaps,
A quickie.
I am writing to someone, and need an address to which he can reply (whereby the reply will get to me) but that is not my home address. (I am threatening to sue him, but don't want to reveal where I live for obvious reasons.)
Is there any easy way of doing this? My first thought is to use my employers (office) address, but I would rather avoid this if I can. If I was to do this, I ought to tell the employer that I am doing so, and I would rather avoid this if possible.
Any ideas? Do the Royal Mail offer this sort of service, or what other options are there? This is a one-off, so it's not worth setting up a PO box number or anything like that.
Suggestions?
Oli.

If you sue in a personal capacity ie as an individual the courts expect you to provide your residential address on the court documents. I don't think they will let you use a c/o address or mailbox address. You could use a friends address but if a brick went through their window they might not be chuffed. Be ok if they lived in a tower block though.

I suggest you get a lawyer to write the letter and that all correspondence is through said lawyer.
However, the point is that I am going through the Small Claims Court, and the amount will be around £2k (at most.)
Therefore, the added expense of a lawyer seems to be not really worth it. (Particularly as I will be meeting court fees of £200 anyway.) And, as Beano500 has just pointed out, he could find my address pretty easily anyway.
Situation? He stole 2 cars of mine (and 67 others as well) and while he was sentenced to 100 hours community service, there was no compensation for his victims. I would really like my immaculate Mk1 GTi back (it really was my P&J), but failing that I'll settle for the value of it.

Forget it. The chances of you getting a single penny out of the bloke: 0%. The chances of you shelling out money to try and prove me wrong and still end up with nothing: 100%.
What are the odds on getting baillifs on side?
Assuming you get a judgement,I'm pretty sure that someone in the PH massive will have a connection to a team of trained gorillas who can legally remove everything he owns down to his shoes, on an ongoing basis.
You may not get any money out of it, but surely the satisfaction would be worth it.
Good luck!

it's pretty easy to find out where someone lives for anyone in the UK, as friends of mine who were targetted by animal rights anarchists know only too well......
