She must be quite 'large' for no-one to notice she was pregnant

Dodgy kebab pain turns out to be baby

A woman who went to hospital fearing she had eaten a dodgy kebab was stunned when she gave birth.

Helen Smitham from Distington, Cumbria, had no idea she was pregnant when she felt stomach pain.

Her mum took her to hospital - and 60 seconds later shocked Helen gave birth to a 4lb 11oz boy.

According to The Sun Helen said: "I had absolutely no idea. When I had stomach pains I thought it was the kebab. At the hospital there was no time for the doctors to see me before it all happened."

Deaton is in the premature baby unit at West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven.

Helen's boyfriend Mark Askew, 41, said: "She was at work until the Friday before Christmas and we'd gone out doing the normal things, like going for a drink, Christmas parties and socialising.

"When I got a call to say we had a baby boy it was amazing."

I wonder if they passed the baby to her wrapped in pita bread and covered in chilli sauce?

How T F does a woman not know she's pregnant?

Correct me if I'm wrong but do these 'fat' people have a facility which enables them to come on once a month even when they're up the duff?

Crikes, doesn't it scare these people that they once had a dump but actually flushed a nipper down the karzee?

I think you might be quite suprised at just how incredibly stupid some people actually are.

(Still so long as they qualify for a postal vote the nice Labour councillor will come along and fill it in for them. )

I have horrific visions of said nipper doing the umbilical cord bungee jump in and out of the pan a few times.

About ten years ago (god I'm getting old!) I worked at a hotel. One of the waitresses started suffering from stomach pains and was taken upstairs to one of the rooms to lie down while a doctor was called.

Shortly thereafter she was taken by ambulance to the hospital to give birth...

She claimed to have had no idea she was pregnant and nobody else had a clue either - she'd put on a little weight in the previous year, but didnt look pregnant at all...

She was mid 20s and although not the brightest spark was certainly not thick.

I went out with friends to an Indian and we had a good meal and a few to drink. I was woken the next morning by my friends wife being sick. She was ill for 3 days and thought it was the indian. She went to the doctors and was told she was pregnant.

Midwifery response!

It is probably more common than you think for people to be pregnant and not know about it. Some women while pregnant do get menstrual bleeds, and this can also happen if you are still taking the oral contraceptive.
Depending on your figure, a "bit of a belly" can be put down to putting on weight which will usually acompany anyway. Some women, even at full term can also not look very pregnant either due to the way they carry or because of baby's position. Also the baby moving can feel a bit like wind, especially if you're not thinking about it being a baby.
Furthermore, if the baby is premature (don't think it says how early), it's obviously going to be a much smaller bump and the movements are less obvious.
