....food bugs!

Warm weather 'to boost food bugs'

Britain could see a dramatic increase in food poisoning cases and waterborne disease as the warmer, wetter weather linked to climate change takes hold

What pisses me off about the media's attitude towards climate change is the glib, offhand way they refer to it. 'Because of global warming, which is of course caused by xyz...' - and inevitably there's no scientific evidence to back it up either.

I'm actually wondering whether 'fighting' climate change might do the Earth more harm than good. I mean, there really is no such thing as 'man-made' - everything comes from the Earth in some way, even oil. And if you look at the cataclysmic changes in climate that have happened over millions of years, can you imagine what would happen if we humans tried to force a change in the other direction? Nuclear holocaust doesn't come close, and yet trying to force the Earth to do something it didn't 'want' to do would most definitely constitute 'man-made climate change'.

As a result I don't buy the whole 'saving the planet' thing. We're not, we're struggling with a rudimentary science we know little about in order to supposedly cover our own arses. The planet doesn't need any help - we do.

Sorry nonegreen but my mum told me to eat greens - so I've been taking her advice ever since. Usually for breakfast.
