Adding an aircon on a 3.2

Hi all,

For about two years I am playing with the idea of adding an aircon on my 3.2 Carrera.
I know it is not worth it and I'd better sell my car and buy another one with aircon already fitted. But the fact is that I have spent so much time making this car near perfect (to my eyes anyway!) I just cannot sell it.

So, the question is, am I better of:

- Buying a donnor aircon system (from someone who wants a lighter car for trackdays for example), restoring its components (compressor, etc...) and getting the all installation fitted by my prefered specialist. No doubt, it is expensive, but lets say this is not an issue

or

- Getting a company specialised in aircon add-on (I see lots of old SL's etc with a modern aircon) to tailor make and fit a brand new, more efficient than 80's, aircon system. If this would be a better option, which company do you know -North London / Midlands- can do a very good quality job?

Spoke to Sam at Alpinair. He seems to know well what a 3.2 is and what this sort of job is about.
He made me an approximative quotation of £2200 + VAT... Which sounds not too bad for a mix of genuine Porsche parts and others (more cost effective and with modern technology he said). All brand new.

I will go down and meet him soon so that I have a better understanding of the work involved and, more importantly, the result I can excpect; Both in a look (I have seen some completetly messed up engine bays and dashboards in the past ) and in a performance point of view (80's 911 aircon are reputed for the lack of cold air and high noise level aren't they?).
