Driving test on December 13th, FRIDAY 13th that is
Discussion
should i be worried ????
its at 10:44 am.
My instructor and i are both relatively confident i'll pass but should i fail it will either be speed or observation (not looking round enough during a manoevre).
anybody passed their test recently ? , i'd like to hear what you have to say.
anything in particular to do or not do or watch out for ...... ?
cheers

is it your first time?
I dont know where you are taking it, but in leeds the average is 3 tests before you pass.
i would not worrk if you fail first time, most people do.
i did a mock and failed for cutting a corner (ish) and there was good reason. But basicly you have to be 100 % and they fail you so easily these days.
im taking mine on the 9th jan, !st test, think i should pass tho. Good luck

i passed mine just over a year ago, and all i can tell you is don't plan ANYTHING (celebrations, road trips etc...) until after you've passed, 'cos its a pisser if you fail and can't do these things... they're also an unwelcome distraction.
don't tell ANYONE your test date
, 'cos if you fail they'll shout at you, and if you pass you can go surprise 'em!!!
my mate failed just the other week and is gutted - not 'cos he failed, but 'cos he has to drive round for a numpty with "leper" plates on his car for another couple of weeks and he just wants to go out by himself and get proper experience...
seriously good luck mate! don't try too hard but don't get complacent if you can think clearly for 40 minutes and ignore all the twats on the road that already have licenses you'll do fine.

I passed mine just over a year ago too. 1st time, 3 minors. The examiners are REALLY picky, he gave me one for doing 20 mph past a school in a 30 zone. He reckoned I was going too fast!! Anyway good luck. Just remember not to rely on magnetic L plates. They can and do come off, even during your test!!
Sorry to bring up a relatively dead topic here, but I took my theory test again today (with hazard perception) and utterly wh000ped it

Now just have to wait till my driving test
Anyway, I would just like to give this post a purpose by saying that hazard perception is'nt that hard. Anyone who is yet to take thier theory test has to do this now (Graham J?) theres really nothing to worry about if your generally observant.
tony: please report back how you get on, good luck again

I am pretty observant and actually aren't that bothered about the hazard perception.
What do you actually have to do?

Why??
Nowadays if you get 6 points within 2 years of passing your test, you have to take the test again. The first time I got 6 points, took my test again and some how they gave me back a completely clean license. The second time, I was not so lucky.

Its a funny date to sit your test. My Mum passed her test on Fri 13th. The funny thing is hardly anyone turned up for their test!
fools!I passed my test some time in April 1982, I don' envy you at all, but I'm sure that the date will make no difference to the outcome. Just go out there and do your best, you know you can do it, so go do it. Best of Luck, and don't forget to post the result before you go off celebrating

Am I right in thinking that you accumilated 6 points between the 4th August 97 and the 16th January 98, then another 6 points between the 16 January 98 and the 11th November 2000? Jesus! In 20 years I've only managed 3 points, and thats with the aid of Some very rapid cars, I must have been VERY lucky! You jammy barsteward!

I needed two attempts, too. The reason being because I didn't look into the mirrors, bad escuse I know. I do now after 13 years (30-Oct-89, I looked it up) of driving without a serious accident and get told by a racing driver that he ripped off the mirrors of his car. Pah, opponents don't get his attention until they appear in his eye sight, left or right. Kill'em... monty_python, good luck and always take a look into the mirrors. Bad luck on Friday 13th is only myths...
Was a few years ago when I passed my driving test, but one bit of advice my instructor gave me was to always look in your mirror when the examiner gave you a direction. Most times he'll only speak to you to tell you to do something, or make a manoeuvre, and therefore you should be checking your mirror.
Thanks for all the replies and encouragement people.
Greatly appreciated.
I've been off school since tuesday morning because i'm sick. At least it wasnt during test.
I really hope i get this.
Thanks again , will tell the world the (hopefully) good news once i get to my pc after my test !!!
cheers ,
tony
Edited to ask why you or people you know failed their tests ????? So i can try to learn from their mistakes.
